YouTube's Decisive Action on Covid-19 Video Conspiracy By Agustinus Mario Damar on Apr 09 2020, 11:00 WIB YouTube Liputan6.com, Jakarta

YouTube has finally announced it has removed content containing conspiracy videos about Covid-19 on its platform, especially those related to 5G network technology. Quoted from the BBC, Thursday (04/09/2020), this step was taken after previously YouTube only included such conspiracy videos in the borderline video category

The borderline video does not mean the company immediately removes conspiracy videos from its platform, but the video cannot be recommended, so that its spread can be reduced. But from the latest report, Google's video platform is now finally taking firm steps. This was done after an interview with the founder of conspiracy theorist, David Icke, a few days ago. After the interview was broadcast live on YouTube, the company said it immediately removed it. In the interview

Icke claimed there was a link between 5G and the current health crisis. The deletion itself is carried out after the live broadcast session is complete. YouTube itself now says videos promoting unsubstantiated medical methods regarding Covid-19 are considered to be in violation of regulations. "Now, any content that debates the existence or transmission of Covid-19, as described by WHO and health authorities, is a violation of our policy," YouTube wrote.
